Nothing like having to rip back almost 3 inches of cabled sock because you realized 3 inches too late that you were supposed to decrease a few stitches for ankle shaping.
Too much socializing at the big table and not enough pattern reading. Oops.

…that Palmetto Bug is really just code for “honkin’ huge cockroach like you only ever see in the zoo.”
-shudders-
The lizards? I love the lizards. They’re wee and cute. Palmetto bugs? Not so much.

So, I got my Florida license last week. It’s weird; for 30 states in the union, all you have to do is trade in your current driver’s license to get a Florida license, but there are 20 states (Illinois included in that list) that you have to provide a second piece of identification, like a birth certificate or passport, to get a FL license.
That struck me as odd because in order to get an Illinois license you need to provide 4 different pieces of ID… but it’s not “proofy” enough to get a Florida license. Weird.
I’ve got a brutal head/chest cold right now. I’ve got some hardcore wheezing happening, but the Tussin is helping, so I’m happy about that. I’m just massively congested, and it sucks. I had another job interview yesterday, with the Clean Water Action people, and I think the interview went really well, but it was doing a lot of door-to-door canvassing and I told the woman interviewing me that the door-to-door thing really intimidated me, and I was really better suited for being support staff. I didn’t get a call back, and I’m really not that surprised about it. I would really have liked to have worked for them, but I’m just not suited for what the job was. I applied on a whim, and truthfully was surprised to hear back. So.
I also had a sort of pre-interview/team evaluation with another company that I’m super excited about, but I don’t want to jinx it by talking about it until I know for sure… so if it happens, you’ll hear about it.
With as lousy as I’m feeling today, I’m pretty much taking the day off from everything. I have to clean the kitchen and do laundry, and I really should do that, but I feel so crappy that I think I’m going to hold off on that until tonight. Hooray.
